Wapienne - tiny but wonderful spa Wapienne is the smallest of Polish spas. This picturesque piedmont health resort is of course located in the Low Beskids, in the valley of the Wapienka stream, which is surrounded by the peaks of Łysa Góra, Ferdel, Kamienna Góra and Męcińska Góra. In the vicinity of this spa is the Carpathian Forest which gives it amazing charm. It is also worth mentioning that some of it lies in the Magura National Park, while the rest is a protected landscape area. The main therapeutic aspects of the spa are certainly natural mineral waters, local mud deposits and a brilliant foothill climate. The history and spa traditions of Wapienne go back to the 17th century, but the development of this town as a typical spa occurred in the 19th century, with the beginning of the fashion for trips to healing waters. Lime was then an inexpensive and modest spa, thanks to which it was widely available, unlike fashionable resorts. Despite a long healing tradition, it was granted the status of a spa only on April 8, 1986. The therapeutic profile here is as follows: rheumatology, pulmonology, dermatology. Diseases such as rheumatic, orthopedic and traumatic, respiratory, skin diseases, endocrine and metabolic diseases, nervous and cardiovascular diseases, women's diseases, chronic stress as well as weakness and allergies can be treated here. Silence and wonderful nature make Wapienne an ideal place for a break from the fast pace of life. I recommend the nearby Kornuty rock reserve, created from thick shoals of Magura sandstone. It's worth visiting the Dark Cave. It is also worth mentioning the surrounding religious monuments of the Wooden Architecture Trail, after all, you cannot overlook the churches inscribed on the UNESCO list in Sękowa, Binarowa.
